Raw hair - what are the extensions made of?
You have probably heard the terms raw hair, cut hair and virgin hair in the context of human hair extensions. But what exactly is behind it? Raw hair refers to the raw material from which extensions are made. It is human hair, before it is chemically treated dyed to the desired colour. The fact that raw hair is mostly untreated naturally has benefits: strong hair with an intact cuticle layer, which is soft and supple even after being processed into extensions. The raw material used for Global Extend extensions is 100% human Remy hair. This term describes hair that has an intact cuticle layer and grows in the same direction. Virgin hair, on the other hand, refers to hair that has never been chemically treated and is generally completely "untouched". Before our extensions were dyed and processed, it was virgin hair.
